I love a good theme party. I feel like it gives your imagination time to stretch and it's a bonding experience for your friends. For my 21st birthday I had a hula hooping party. It doesn't make any sense but we had a blast. I cleared out the furniture, hung streamers from the ceiling, installed a disco ball and scattered big confetti about. Then I just left hula hoops around for all to play. You can't take life too seriously and drunk hula hooping is quite possibility the only kind of hula hooping that should be allowed.
For my 25th, I had an 80's prom party. Our friends LOVED it. One very dedicated friend pulled over on her way home from a show and curled her hair in the middle of a convenient store so she'd be picture perfect when she arrived. We set up an easy backdrop and a camera on a tripod to take pictures and this is what it looked like.
I asked Brian politely after that night to never wear those clothes again.
So I think this would be a wonderful theme for a special birthday or even a new year's eve party, I'm talking Gatsby! Think sparkly tea lights, confetti everywhere, and great tunes. Keep the champagne flowing, the hors d'oeuvres a plenty and the murder to a minimum.
